The local zoo always upset me, seeing animals caged up in small enclosures and treated like nothing but exhibits.

Very few people visit the Zoo now, the customer base has been shrinking, my family go every year, when we first started going we would see hundreds of visitors now we are lucky to see a few dozen.

I think the animals are starting to feel lonely, they don’t interact with visitors like they used to do, they just huddle together in the dingy corners of their enclosures.

The staff like hurrying people along, guess they just want to take your money and get you through the park as quickly as possible to free up space for other visitors.

I was standing infront of the chimpanzee enclosure when all of a sudden they all came to look at me. They even looked sad, but I noticed something when I looked closer, their eyes…they looked human, too human, one of them points to the right and glances his eyes over.

I can see one of the zoo attendants on his walkie talkie, he looks worried. I have to run.
