Tinted Windows : Scary Stories – Short Horror Story

As I stand at the bus station at night, a bus pulls up with tinted windows. No, that’s not really correct, these windows aren’t just tinted to be dark, they are completely black. The door opens, but it’s entirely dark inside, I can’t see who is driving it without having to step inside.

Unnerved, I began to walk home instead.

That was a week ago, now I’m seeing more cars with these fully black tinted windows, actually, it looks like half the cars outside have tinted windows. Who is driving them?

I attempt going to my favorite restaurant, but then I see all the windows are tinted. I go up to the door and try it, but it doesn’t open. I lay my ear against it to see if I can hear what is going on inside, but what I hear is no sound of this Earth, it’s borderline indescribable, the sound of empty tombs and massive monoliths, slithering things and flowing flesh.

I hurry home again.

Now all the cars and buildings have tinted windows. I haven’t seen another human for days.

That bus still comes and goes at the station.

I’ve finally decided. I’m going to get on the bus with tinted windows. I feel like it’s coming by because it’s waiting for me, and I’m tired of being alone.
