I had been a young sailor when my ship had had an encounter with one of the legends of the sea; a siren. It was beautiful as it lay on the rocks a few miles off the coast, singing. Its naked body was so beautiful and I found myself breathless as she seemed to be begging me to go to. Our captain had ordered us to cover our ears as we passed by but I, in my curiosity, lifted a hand from my ear and listened to that otherworldly singing that has been calling me to her ever since.

Every night I have that song in my dreams and as the years have gone on the urge to hear it again have only increased. And so I steered my rowboat to that same place she had been, my withered hands aching. After all these years there she was, same as before, smiling at me as she beckoned me return to her.

I carefully steered my boat and swam the rest of the distance onto the rocks as she continues to sing. I marvelled at her beauty, her porcelain white skin and long, slender body with her lower half submerged in the water. I lay next to her, cold and weak and her song turned softer and even sweeter as she embraced me and slowly took me with her beneath those gentle, lapping waves.

As I sank beneath the depths, her arms gripped me tighter and I saw her bottom half did not end in a tail but continued in a long tendril to a much larger mass of flesh with enormous, luminescent eyes and long, sharp teeth.
