When I was in Egypt recently, I came across an antique pin with a jar of ink and thought they would be perfect for my niece Molly. I know it’s not your usual gift for a child, but I knew she would appreciate how unique it was. It took almost an hour of haggling to persuade him to sell it to me. He tried to convince me it came from the tomb Ankhtifi , which is only an excuse to put up the price for poor naïve tourists like me.

After nearly two months of traveling, I finally made it, home, just in time for mollies birthday party. We hadn’t seen each other in a long time so she was very happy to see me. I waited until after the party before I let her open her present out of fear of judgement for my unusual gift.

She was amazed when I told her that it came from a Pharos tomb. Later that evening I showed her how to use it and she drew me a lovely picture of her dog smelly, it was no Picasso, but she tried her best. After I went downstairs to show Mollie’s latest work of art and got roped into cleaning.

I stayed up late that night catching up with my sister Lucy and ended up ended up crashing on the couch after having one too many glasses of wine. When I woke the next morning, I went to the kitchen for a glass of orange juice and noticed a drawing of mollies mom and dad hanging on the fridge. I heard smelly scratching and opened the door to let him, that’s when the madness began.

I saw a flash, and felt something rub against my legs, when I turned around, I was sure my eyes were deceiving me. It was smelly the dog, I think. It was the most peculiar thing I have ever seen the dog looked like it was drawn by a child, I was sure then that I was dreaming. “Here Smelly” I called out, to my surprise he came hurtling, tripped, then somehow slid under the fridge.

I freaked and screamed for help, seconds later I could hear Lucy screech as she tumbled down the stairs. When I went to check on her, I really began to panic my sister was flat out, at the bottom of the stairs, literarily, she was a bad drawing just like smelly. Then I realized what was happening it was that pen I got from Egypt, Mollie’s drawing most have come to life, I had to stop her before she done anymore.

I rushed up stairs as fast as I could and into Mollie’s room where she was drawing another picture, “Stop! Give me those pins now”

“Why” replies Molly

“There cursed, I should have never brought them back from Egypt, now give me the pins”

“Mom, mom, dad must have taken acid again, he thinks he was in Egypt.
