You are walking in the woods near your home. You are walking along side a creek and cross at a large dead tree that leads to the other side. After a few minutes of walking along the path that you usually walk, you see a new path diverging into a different direction. Curious, you look in the direction that it leads and far in the distance you see something most fascinating. It appears like two white trees, different than the rest, have branches that come together to form a perfect circle. Astonished by the feat, you walk the new path to get a closer look and take some great photos. Once you arrive at the sight, you see the circle it forms is huge! It’s almost twice the size as you. The top of the branches has something carved into them. It appears to be writing but you can’t make out what it says. You look around and see that the path goes on past the circle. You amusingly jump through it and continue on the path. After only a few minutes you hear talking in the distance ahead and a group of people looking around. You make yourself seen to not alarm anyone but keep going down the path towards them. As you begin to approach the group of people you then seen flashing lights in background. You look closer at the group and see they are all wearing police uniforms. They come off brash and cautious to you as you begin to engage with them to understand what’s going on. They inform you that they are doing a search and rescue for a missing persons case. They’re very surprised to see you there because they had the whole area blocked off. You promptly make your case that you were just wondering the woods and came across over here. The police let you know that they have the prime suspect but need to know where you came from to help solve some unresolved issues. You remember the tree from earlier so you lead them back down the path to the tree. After walking the same time and distance you begin to grow confused as to why you haven’t seen the tree anymore. Quickly you pull up to a mysterious cave. You talk with the officers and explain how this isn’t right and that there was a set of white trees here that formed a circle. The police ask to go back to the station and you happily oblige. You let them know that you will need a ride and they agreed to drive you to the station. Once you arrive, you start to feel conceded that you are two cities over. You explain about what happened, where you went, where you were going and where you came from. You tell them you’re from a few towns over. The officer gets confused and says they’ve never heard of it before. They tell you that it’s not a real place and even show you a map without it on there. Paranoid, you pull out your phone and check all of your maps apps to see and sure enough the whole town is gone. In its place is a deep forest with a newly discovered cave system. You let the officer know you need to take a breather so you go back outside & sit on a bench to think. You take a breath and ponder. “What do I do next?” ………………………… What would you do next? Comment how the 2nd part should go and how it might end. I think there’s so many possibilities with this one!
