Hungry Man : Scary Stories – Short Horror Story

Hello there!

This here is a little thing I’m writing to help people stay well informed about a certain…game that’s been played recently. You may have heard of it, a game called “Hungry Man”, and this little document here is to warn why you should NOT play it.

Hungry Man”, is a game played between four people; it consists of each person reciting a part of a four verse poem, the person who says the last verse will be chased by the titular “hungry man”, whoever says the fourth verse is up to the players. Anyway, the poem (more like a badly written rime), goes like this:

Hungry man, hungry man. Looking for food.

He hungers, he hungers, looking for more.

There is little left so he lays on the floor, then he hungers,

he hungers, hungers for more.

Hungry man, hungry man. Looking for food.

She hungers, she hungers, but there is no more.

Licking the bones of the one that came before, she lays

on the floor as she hungers for more.

Hungry man, hungry man. Looking for food.

They hunger, they hunger pleading for more.

A painful death, down by the floor, because they hunger,

they hunger, hunger for more.

Hungry man, hungry man. Looking for food.

It does not hunger, but looks for more.

It sleeps and waits for death down by the floor,

It does not hunger, but wants more.

Charming, I know…

Well, funny story (not really). This poem is more of a “call”, if you wanna put it that way. The last person will be hunted down by the “Hungry man”; this creature is a humanoid entity towering at about 10 meters (32ft), it looks like a bald man, very obese, with large arms and stumpy legs, VERY fast.

It has a large mouth and as the name implies, wants to eat very badly. It will chase down the fourth player until eating them, after that it will proceed to eat everyone else in the vicinity.

The only way to stop it is if the fourth player recites the entire poem before being eaten, a difficult feat when you are being chased by a literal demon.

To this day only one person was able to recite the whole thing (me), but that still brings the approximated body count to about 5 306 people.

Avoid playing if you can, and if you DO play, make sure to run away as soon as the fourth verse ends.

Signed: Jim.
