I will narrate what I dream last night. I tend to have super detailed dreams once in a while.

I was doing what I normally do in this period of quarantine which is basically watching series while I can and working on the week and going to the fair on Saturdays.

So… I was going to the fair like I always do. But everything changed from there. I met an old friend. He was smiling in an awkwardly way. We chit chat a little and he gave me a fruit. He was so happy about it that I couldn’t refuse. The fruit was really big and I couldn’t tell for its looks what fruit it was. I had never seen anything like it. It looked like a giant chayote with a peach color. When I got home I started to feel very sick and I didn’t notice that I was taking the fruit with me to the bathroom.

And that’s when I started to hear a cry. A baby’s cry. I looked down at my arms and there he was. There was a baby in my hands! But I was sure they were busy carrying the fruit….

I don’t know how much time has passed.
Since that day that seems more like a tale out of a Japanese legend, I’ve been taking care of the baby.
I know it’s strange that I just accepted the fact that a baby appeared out of nowhere. But what else could I do? Just go to the police station and say that a baby just appeared in my arms?

He’s a lot of work and I can barely leave the house. But he is really cute.

Now I’m going to tell it from the observer’s perspective. (in the dream I experienced what the woman saw and what actually happened)

When the strange fruit arrived at the house, it began to bond with the girl through extensions that looked like veins… Sucking her blood. Before what looked like a strange fruit turned into a mass of flesh.

As time passed, the mass of flesh began to take on a more recognizable shape, approaching the shape of a human face. Until in the end it took on its final form… a human face. Not just any face, but the face of its host.

In the end the woman brings the face closer to hersas it’s slowly absorbs her face and takes it’s place.

In the final scene we see the woman meeting a friend from work, in the street and delivering a fruit similar to the one she received.

With the same awkwardly smile on her face
