So I know this was a horrible thing to do and I’m an idiot but I feel like I need to tell someone and see what other people think. This happened a few months ago. My boyfriend and I are both in school and that’s where we met (we’ve been together for about two years). We both live in the dorms which is crucial to this story.

I was at a party on a Friday night and ended up getting pretty drunk. I was with some friends who were taking care of me but it eventually got to the point where I wanted to leave because it was getting late and I was drunk and wanted to go to bed. When I told them I was leaving they wanted to walk me back but I told them no for whatever reason. The party wasn’t far from my dorm so I figured it would be OK. I don’t remember exactly what time it was but it was probably around 1AM or something close to that.

Anyway, while I was walking back, I decided that I wanted to go see my boyfriend. I hadn’t seen him much that day because I had class in the morning and afternoon and then he had to work which is why he couldn’t go to the party with me. I also get horny when I’m drunk so that also played a part. His dorm was close to mine so I figured why not and went that way.

Honestly I guess I don’t remember a lot of the specifics until the next morning but more or less what happened is I went to the wrong room and had sex with someone who I wondered was my boyfriend. It was dark when I opened the door and he does look similar to my boyfriend, especially in the dark. I think he was on his phone in bed when I came in, and I remember him being surprised which for whatever reason didn’t register for me. He said something along the lines of “what the hell?” but I just got in bed with him and he didn’t exactly stop me. I think he was still “what the hell-ing” me but I told him shh and to kiss me and that was pretty much it.

We had sex pretty much all night after that. He started off with a condom but I guess by the end of it we had decided not to because when I woke up the next morning I had cum inside of me. Waking up was pretty weird honestly because the gravity of the situation didn’t hit me right away. When it did, it was a pretty big “oh fuck” moment as I’m sure you can imagine and I just told him I had to leave.

I have only told my best friend about this and have not told anyone else. I know I am a horrible person for doing this and horrible for not telling him but I don’t want one mistake to ruin the entire relationship, especially since I wondered it was him at the time. I know alcohol isn’t an excuse but it was just so stupid.

So that’s it, I guess it feels good finally talking about it “out loud” but I don’t know if it’s gonna make me feel any better.
