"Let us talk…" said Sly.

Brawler clubbed him over the head.

"No more talk!" Brawler grunted. "Sly talk makes Brawlers brain vomit. Brawler knows that Sly took Brawlers meat. Brawler will kill Sly." He lifted his club to deliver the final blow, but before he could strike, a rustling sound distracted him.

Another hominid entered the clearing, groaning under the weight of the rock he was carrying. "Hold on!" the newcomer growled "Lusty wants to drop stone on Sly. Sly had intercourse with Lustys female. Lusty will kill Sly."

Brawler bared his teeth. "Brawler will kill Sly. Meat more important than females."

"But Lusty carried stone all the way up from river. Stone heavy. Will kill Sly more painfully."

Brawler looked at the stone and his brow furrowed as he was grappling with the argument. "Stone good." he said finally "But Brawler strong. Brawler will put stone on Slys breast. Then…"

"Now, wait a moment…" intercepted Sly, who was struggling to his feet.

The other hominids looked at him questioningly.

"There is one thing you have clearly not considered. And that is…ah…that is…" he rubbed his head in agony. "I have this friend. He is very big and powerful. If you kill me, he will kill you."

Brawler chuckled. "Sly has no friends. Everyone hates Sly."

"I have one friend. But you don´´'t know him because…because he is so big that you don't see him. He fills the sky. In fact he is looking down at us with his eye" – Sly pointed towards the sun – "right now. If you kill me, he will squash you."

Brawler chuckled again, but it sounded forced this time.

"Brawler already hit Sly." Lusty objected "Why sky-friend not already crushed him?"

"Well…why indeed? Its because…because he is also a friend of Brawler."

Brawler opened his mouth, but Sly continued.

"He likes Brawler very much. He says that Brawler is nearly as big and strong as him. He says Brawler ought to lead our horde."

Brawler looked puzzled. "But leader of horde must be wise. Brawler not knows enough to lead horde."

"But you are strong. You can kill the leaders. And then you just do what our sky-friend says. He is very old and wise as well."

Lusty suddenly dropped his stone and looked towards the sky "Sky-friend!" he shouted "Is true what Sly says?"

"Fool!" Sly affected a haughty smile "Do you think that our sky-friend would talk to you? He only talks to superior people. Am I right, Brawler?"

"Ah…Yes, Sly is right. Lusty not supper, so no talk to sky-friend."

"Now, don't look so disappointed. If you share your female with me, I might just introduce you to my sky-friend. But lets talk about more important things.
