I have always loved cars since a young age. There is something about the ability to get up and go whenever you please that always appealed to me. Naturally, being into cars the best kinda of therapy was putting on some soothing music playlist and hitting the road.

*muffled car horn

When I get into my 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, I feel this immense power and of course the 707hp engine helps with that feeling. She always complained, “You and the damn car, don’t you care about anything else.” “Your child needs you….” Does she even remember anything before having our child.

*brakes screeching “You have a stop sign as…….!”

I met Mary at a car meet, she was young and full of energy. Wow! That was 5 years ago, now that I think about it. I knew it was love from the very beginning. She wouldn’t have called it that but I knew she would be mine. Luckily, my 97 5.7 liter V8 Camaro was enough to edge out her former boyfriend’s 97 mustang. I won our first date and as you can imagine she was thrilled. “Jack you idiot, I’m not a prize to be won.” “I’m sorry Mary, I swore it was an easy win, he drives a Camaro.”

*”STAYYYYYY IN………” muffled and shouted from a distance

The date went how you would expect for an awkward 18 year old. We talk about little things here and there. The positive from the experience was learning she didn’t live to far from me. How much I would give to have that feeling back.

Does she not understand that just because we have a child doesn’t mean we can’t still ride. “You just stay in the garage all day, how are we supposed to feed Ariel.” I don’t know maybe you can get a job Mary!!! I’m just tired of the constant tasks and favors. All she does is take care of one kid and still needs help. What a joke!!! No thanks or gratitude.

Everything is fine because the only thing that doesn’t give up on me is the road and this engine. I mean really Mary we have a few bad fights and now you wanna leave me. Finally, redline and just in time for the county courthouse. You won’t take my car in the divorce.

*Breaking News!!! A local man has met a tragic end. There were multiple reports of people witnessing running lights and ignoring streets signs while traveling at speeds greater than 100mph. Unfortunately the local man, seemed to lose control of the vehicle and crashed into the county court building. Once first responders arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
