“What’s up guys!” Marky MarkyBoi, one of the most popular YouTubers in the world, was standing in front of the camera. He was grinning, his smile wide and most likely exaggerated.

“Welcome back to my channel, Marky MarkyBoi! Where we do tons of SICK pranks!” He did his signature fist bump at the camera. “Today’s video is totally AWESOME, and I can’t wait to show you! But first—”

He did a backflip for the camera. His 12.7 million subscribers loved that move.

“I want to do a quick shout-out to today’s sponsor, ShordVPN!” He winked and put two thumbs up. “ShordVPN is an AWESOME VPN service that helps keep your information private! ShordVPN is a service that I use every day ‘cuz online privacy is super important, ya know? Suuuuuper important. Nothing’s worse than having no privacy on the Internet! That’s why I use ShordVPN for all my—”

Marky MarkyBoi paused. A single tear dripped down his face. He opened his mouth to say something else, but the words wouldn’t come out.

“Cut!”

The man behind the camera rolled his eyes and sighed. “Seriously? This is our fifth take. I thought you YouTubers were good at this.”

Marky MarkyBoi’s lip trembled. “Please just let me go.”

The man behind the camera glared at him. “Mark, we’ve been over this a hundred times. You can’t go back home until you raise our sales numbers by at least twenty percent.”

“Please bro,” Marky MarkyBoi murmured, tears streaming down his face. “Let me go home.”

The man rolled his eyes. “Quit the dramatics. You have more than twelve million followers. Tons of people will probably sign up for our service.”

“Bro,” Marky MarkyBoi sobbed, “most of my subscribers are kids. They don’t have money to buy subscriptions.”

“I don’t care,” snapped the man. “You know what you have to do. So do it.” The man checked his watch and gave an annoyed grunt.

“Shit. We’re behind schedule.” He eyed Marky MarkyBoi. “Let’s try again. Are you ready?”

Marky MarkyBoi gave one last sob before nodding his head. “Yes.”

The man behind the camera pressed the film button.

“What’s up guys!”
