This is a short story, everyone. This happened before the COVID-19 striked. And please don’t mind my english grammar. I am not from US. 🙁

Most of you loves watching at cinemas, right? Also me, but that was before.

It was my day off from work and I thought to treat myself by going to mall, eat at fast food, buy some make ups, and yes…to watch movie at cinema.

I decided to go by myself because I am more comfortable by going out without tagging anyone with me.

When I already bought the stuff that I wanted, I went ahead at the cinema. Bought a large drink and a large popcorn. The movie that was showing was a horror movie.

After buying my food, I walked in and the guard greeted me with a worrying smile and nodded, I smiled back and said hi to him. His worrying smile didn’t bother since I was so excited to watch that movie. I love horror movies.

Inside the cinema was a bunch of people, almost gave me a hard time finding my seat and eventually, I got to sit and watched.

Just a short trivia about the mall I went to. It was a cemetery before and some of my colleagues shared their stories with me about them seeing a ghost at the cinema or that mall is haunted. I just shrugged them off because never in my life had seen a ghost or felt any paranormal experience. And there are still people goes to that mall.

Back to my story

It was the middle of the movie and many people were still coming in.

“Heh” I thought to myself, feeling lucky that I got in earlier than them because the seats were already full. Some of them just went out, maybe they’ll get back when the next batch started.

I just watched the movie, replied to my mom’s text message saying that if I’ll be home at 9PM to eat our dinner together. Told her that I’ll be home before 9PM. Then put my phone on silent mode because I didn’t want anyone distracting me.

It’s been my hobby to watch the full credits of the movie, always expecting that maybe there will be another scene right after that. But I haven’t got the chance to watch it because it was already 8:30 PM and needed to go home to eat dinner with my family. So I was the first one who went out from inside the cinema.

I greeted again the security guard with a smile and said,

“The movie was good! Have a great night, sir!”

The guard smiled at me, released a nervous laugh and said,

“Woah, you had the courage to finish that movie inside the cinema all alone? That’s brave of you!”

I froze and took a look inside the cinema one more time.

There were no people inside.
