6:54 PM: Police station calls the landline of the Hudson household at 1424 Birch Street. Noelle Hudson answers. Transcript of recording is as follows:

“Hello, is this Noelle Hudson?”

“Yes, who is this?”

“This is Officer James Selwick calling from the police station. I’m very sorry, but it’s your husband. He was hit by a car just off of Lindbergh Avenue. He was dead when we arrived.”

“…I’m sorry?”

“I know this is hard, ma’am, but if you could come to the station just to confirm some—”

“My husband, Jeremy?”

“Yes, Jeremy Hudson. Now, miss, please—”

“That’s impossible.”

“Is something wrong, Mrs. Hudson?”

“It can’t be Jeremy. He’s in the kitchen right now.”

7:26 PM: Officers are dispatched to the house and confirm Jeremy Hudson to be alive. Autopsy on the body begins immediately while Mr. and Mrs. Hudson are brought to the station for questioning.

9:03 PM: Interrogation of Mr. and Mrs. Hudson concludes and the couple is sent home. Questioning indicates nothing unusual or suspicious. Phone calls to the Hudsons’s neighbors provide alibis for Mr. Hudson being home when the other man was hit. Mr. Hudson is given a brief medical exam for comparison to the body.

10:44 PM: Autopsy concludes. Body is identical to Mr. Hudson. Investigators and medical professionals are unable to provide an explanation.

10:57 PM: The body disappears.

11:02 PM: 911 receives a call from the Hudson household. A panicked Mrs. Hudson reports waking up due to the bed becoming wet; upon turning on the lights she sees Mr. Hudson’s mutilated body laying next to her. Officers dispatched.

11:27 PM: Autopsy of Mr. Hudson’s body begins. Coroners quickly confirm it to be the same body that had been autopsied earlier. Officers find no sign of the “original” Mr. Hudson in the house or surrounding area. Mrs. Hudson stays at the home of neighbor Lin Kedigh for the night.
