[Lily attends the retreat and is now back home]

Lily absolutely enjoyed the retreat. She learned so much about how to keep her body functioning at its peak level. She met leaders with the most influential stories. She saw the most gorgeous, scenic parts of nature. She swam in hot springs, hiked up a mountain, and practiced meditation and shamanic journeying. She wanted nothing more but to return to Naturocamping. Nevertheless, it was a Monday and she was at her new corporate job, somewhat excited yet somewhat unfulfilled. Around 11am, she receives a text from Mary, one of the camp “counselors.” Mary had been extremely welcoming and friendly to Lily. She was somewhat older than Lily, maybe late 30s or early 40s, but she had a young motherly quality about her. She was blond, very well endowed, and exclusively wore dresses, even on the hikes. I like to warn camp counselors that the position requires some lifestyle changes and isn’t suitable for everyone.” Lily wasn’t worried at all. She already took vitamins, did cardio at the gym, and felt like she could stand to be more spiritual and open minded.

Flash forward to Lily’s first day at the camp—everything was just as she remembered. The smell of nature, the shining on grassy fields with hills in the distance, a feeling of wholeness that she could never reach in the office. After dropping off her bags and luggage, she was escorted to her first appointment with one of the camp physicians. He was slightly above average height, fit, handsome in the face, possibly mid-30s? He said his name was Dr. Gardner, then laughed and told her that he all the time wanted to be a gardener just because of his last name but somehow ended up in medical college. She just laughed, but was feeling a little awkward around such a handsome man. “Okay, so this examination will be comprehensive and extremely tedious, but the camp is unable to access your civilian medical records, being off grid as we are, so I will need to gather all the information I can about your past health, present health, and create a plan for future health goals. I have my own lab here and I will be taking blood, urine, DNA, and a PAP smear test from you today. This will be a long process, so if at any time you need a break, please let me know.
