This was two years ago. Basically, I consensually punched them but I didn’t make a proper fist— I put my thumb on the inside of my fist instead of the outside. Needless to say it hurt like a bitch. I didn’t go to the doctor til a month later because my relationship with my parents got really screwed up over something I did and I needed our insurance and I was terrified to ask them because they basically disowned me. I got an xray and it wasn’t broken, just sprained. They offered me a splint but my dumbass was like “Nah I’m good.” I continued to work my very hands on job where I need to carry heavy stuff sometimes which definitely didn’t help.

It doesn’t really hurt anymore but it’s still uncomfortable. It took over a year not to hurt so I’m still careful about it because it may easily begin hurting again, it’s done that before. It’s probably permanently damaged, but I’ve accepted it.
