Announcement/Reminder About Fiction Flare

Okay everyone, this has kinda come up a few times and I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page here.

If your story is non fiction, please mark it as such with the appropriate flare. The rules for fictional and non-fictional stories are subtly different and this can be essential. We’ve had some problems with a few reports now of people mixing up how each is treated. If your story is real and you’re presenting it as real, use the correct flare.

Now, for the other side, if a story is fictional, don’t report it like it’s real. I’ve seen a bunch of ”involuntary pornography” reports from fictional stories at this point and that’s not how it works.

Involuntary porn is when a story is written about a real, living person and they don’t want to be in it. It is not a catch all report for when you don’t like the content of a story. It is not a way to hammer stories that have fetishes you dislike, and it is not a blunt tool to use against people or stories which tick you off but don’t otherwise break the rules.

If a story is being presented as fictional but was actually real and you have proof of this or were one of the people involved, you are at all times free to contact us directly via modmail or by messaging either myself or my fellow mod, Stephensk24. Believe me, we treat all such cases extremely seriously. And yes, they have come up before. They were dealt with securely and privately. We just want everyone on this subreddit to be happy and enjoy their time here, and that cannot happen if a certain segment of people weaponize the rules for their own convenience.

Falsely reporting stories that don’t break the rules is not on. The rules are meant to ensure a safe, friendly subreddit for us all. Not as weapons to use against people, stories or fetishes that someone dislikes but are otherwise allowed.

Okay, sorry for the big rant. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day.
