As they pulled away from one another, Miles pressed Gabriella against the counter, and she could feel his hands moving up to the hem of her skirt.

“I want you,” Miles whispered, his voice low and husky. Gabriella nodded her agreement, and before she knew it, their clothes were scattered across the bathroom floor.

Tears streamed down Gabriella’s face as she realized that her job was in jeopardy because of their affair. Her boss continued to talk, but Gabriella could hear nothing but the thumping of her heart.

Miles finally spoke up, putting an arm around Gabriella to comfort her as he said, “We will end our relationship. It will not affect our work here.”

Gabriella nodded, their relationship coming to an end as abruptly as it had started. Miles and Gabriella kept their distance from one another, both focusing on their work, but their memories of their dangerous desires never faded.
