41 Coma

Much too early I was woken up by the nurse. I could open my eyes only with difficulties. I was so tired. And then these bad dreams. My gaze fell to the other side where Isabell was lying and smiled tiredly at me.

Suddenly I was wide awake: I had not dreamed that!

“Shit!”

She looked at me puzzled, but nodded then. “Not quite the morning greeting I’m used to from you, but that’s just how I felt when I woke up.”

“Sorry, that wasn’t meant for you. Good morning Bella!”, I apologized lamely, looking at the nurse who just brought in our food.

“You too, my angel!”

After the usual morning procedure, and when we were finally alone, Isabell came over to me and snuggled into bed with me.

We had not heard from Rebecca yet, Reiner had not contacted us. The nurse didn’t know anything either. We were hanging in the air. Wisely, we both avoided bringing up the subject.

“You’re smelling,” she said, lying next to me. “You should wash!”

Was certainly not a bad idea. I was sweating a little bit yesterday.

Nonetheless I teased back, “You’ll have to get used to that, it’s Fox in the morning!”

” I like angel better, off to the bathroom with you! Shall I help you?”

I laughed. “No, better not, we could both get dirty doing that.”

She pulled a face. “Too bad!”

“You may use my toothbrush afterwards, that will have to do for you.”

“Ew!” Isabell screwed up her face.

“Says the woman who likes to drink piss, of all things,” I remarked.

“Not everyone’s ! But yours is quite ok!”

“What, my nectar is only ok?”, I acted honestly indignant.

“Your nectar is even excellent, just your piss is not!”

Now I was really puzzled. Were there differences in taste? Shaking my head, I went into the bathroom. There were things I didn’t really want to know. I definitely did not like it.

I put the T-shirt on a hook and removed the last bandages. Then I washed myself as well as I could. My labia looked devastating, as far as I could see. I had stitches in several places. They were also bleeding a little.

I opened the bathroom door to tell Isabell to please call the nurse to bring me a new dress. At that moment I saw Diana enter the room.

Surprised, we stared at each other for a moment. She insistently examined me from bottom to top, then nodded at my shame.

“You should have that bandaged again. That looks bad!”

Isabell had already knelt on the floor and lowered her head, but I only nodded.

“Good morning Mistress Diana, I was just about to call the nurse to take care of this.”

“That can wait for now . Stuff a washcloth down there and sit down on the bed. I need to talk to you.”

Oha, that sounded serious. I went back to the bathroom, put my T-shirt back on, followed Diana’s instructions, and then sat down on my bed in the room.

She had sat down in the chair in the meantime, Isabell was still kneeling on the floor. When I sat down on the bed, I noticed a strange expression on Diana’s face, something like amazement. But she immediately regained her composure.

“Doctor Meier told me everything that happened yesterday,” Diana began. “He had called me immediately when he had heard what had happened. also told me that you were to stay in the hospital overnight because of the shock, Five!” She looked at Isabell very thoroughly mustering. “You seem to have recovered, so I’ll take you right back.”

That didn’t really surprise me. I would have been more surprised if Diana had left Isabell here. Isabell just nodded silently. I waited to hear what Diana had to say.

“You’re going to stay here today, Fifteen!”

Oh, my new rank was known to her? Had Rebecca discussed this with her before driving here? Also the three months remission? I was curious. Silently I waited.

Diana seemed to have expected a reaction from me, but she was not confused by its absence.

“I’m sorry to tell you that Rebecca is not doing well. The doctors decided this morning to keep her in a coma. And even if she regains consciousness tomorrow or the day after, she will be out for at least four weeks.”

I made an affected face, but Isabell startled us with a short, horrified cry.

Diana’s stern face immediately softened a bit.

“I know how you feel now, Isabell, we’re both her longtime friends. It touches me, too. But I have to continue running her business now. That means considerably more work for me. So I’ve just decided to take you out of the basement temporarily. You’re moving back upstairs to the apartments.”

My lower jaw dropped in amazement. I had expected anything, but not this. But Diana went on: “And you, Isabell, will be appointed interim instructor again. You know the drill. Your main job will be to supervise and instruct the other slave girls, assisted by Master P, of course.”

Isabell stared at her as incredulously as I did myself.

“It will be your job today, Isabell, to get your things back into the apartments. You can have one of the slave girls help you. Preferably four, she deserves to get out of there again.”

Then Diana spoke to me again: “I know that you had a special financial agreement with Rebecca, and I’m suspending that, too. You’ll get the bonus from the show the other day transferred to your account , just like you would have gotten it otherwise. I don’t know how you handled it with the finance department, but I was going to have it set up that way again then. Would that be okay with you?”

Completely dumbfounded, I nodded my head, unable to answer.

“Good, then I will make that happen. However, I will backdate your lease to the 1st, so you will pay rent for the full month.”

The two days? A gift! A soft bed, no chastity belt, a reasonable income, being allowed to kiss and hug Isabell again: Heaven on earth!

“Thank you mistress!” My gratitude was not feigned.

She nodded. “But still, you will remain Rebecca’s slave, this is just paused until she is back, understand?”

“Yes mistress!”

“There’s one more thing. Rebecca told me that she has an invitation to Cyprus for next month. It’s about an important friend and promoter of the Rooms. Vladimir Morozov. Do you know anything about that?”

Isabell suddenly brightened up, but didn’t say anything, she just looked at me attentively. I pretended not to have noticed.

“I met him briefly in the evening after our weekend show,” I confirmed. And Mistress Rebecca told me that she was invited to Cyprus with me as her slave. But that’s all I know, I’m afraid.”

Diana nodded. “Well, there’s a social gathering going on there. It’s a community of very wealthy Doms and Dominas from all over Europe. And there are shows and games. Also pony races. Rebecca would have loved to have you compete there as a pony.”

Oh.

“I do hope that she will soon be fit enough to go there. But she would make a fool of herself with an untrained pony. Of course, you won’t stand a chance against the other ponygirls competing there anyway, but at least with some training you wouldn’t be totally behind. But that won’t be. Do you have any suggestions?”

What a sneaky beast!

“Would it be feasible for you, Mistress Diana, to take over my training until Mistress Rebecca is able to do it herself again?”

Satisfied, she nodded. “I was hoping you would ask. Yes, I will be able to arrange that. And not only me, but Master P will train you, too. We’ll do sulky training three times a week. On top of that, you’ll have to get used to the chastity belt and get on the treadmill, in the pony boots, to train twice a day. You’ll also need nipple piercings.”

At least I had no problems with the latter. I had no problems now, but with the chastity belt. Not because he could really prevent me from getting an orgasm, but because I also had to earn money as a camgirl. But I could clarify that later.

“Yes, that’s fine, mistress. I sincerely hope Mistress Rebecca is well again soon!”

“We all hope so!” Diana stood up. “Do you know where Rebecca’s purse is?”

With horror, I remembered the keycard that was still in my jogging suit. The handbag, however, was here in my nightstand.

“It’s here in the closet,” Isabell answered helpfully.

My mind immediately went into alert mode. What could I do now? I pulled myself out of bed.

“Excuse me, I have to pee.”

“No issue,” Diana replied, standing up. “We’re done here. I’m gonna arrange Isabelle’s release. You guys can talk for another 15 minutes. Isabell, you’ll be right down, won’t you? I’ll meet you at the reception. Will you hand me the purse?”

“Isabell will bring them right away; mistress! “

Diana stumbled for a moment, then nodded. “Get well soon Johanna, I’ll see you tomorrow and I’ll send someone to pick you up!”

“Goodbye, mistress!”, I nodded goodbye, and Diana left the room.

Immediately I rummaged the handbag out of the night cabinet. Isabell stared at me in amazement.

“Don’t you have to go to the bathroom?”

“Uh, yeah, in a minute. Just wanted to make sure we don’t forget her right when we say goodbye.” I grinned mischievously at her. “I’ll hang them on the door.”

“Oh, all right.”

With the bag in my hand, I went back to the bathroom. Then I remembered that I still needed something. Therefore, I returned to the hallway.

“Finished so soon?”

“No, I need something else.” I opened the closet door and searched in the bag for the card.

Isabell watched with interest. “What?”

“Band-Aids. I wondered I had another one. Can you ring the bell and let them know I need another Band-Aid for my stitches?”

“Sure!”

Holding the card hidden in my hand, I went back to the bathroom and put it in my purse. Then I sat down again on the bowl, peed, wiped myself carefully, rinsed finally, washed my hands and quickly brushed my teeth.

In the meantime, the nurse came in and inquired what we needed. Isabell explained it to her and she disappeared again.

I returned to the room with the handbag and sat down on the bed.

“Weren’t you gonna put those on the door?”

“Oh, yeah, but that’s where she would fall off now when the nurse comes back in. But I guess we won’t forget it for those five minutes.” Embarrassed, I put the bag on the nightstand.

Suddenly Isabell giggled.

“What’s wrong?”

“Didn’t you notice the look on Diana’s face when you came out of the bathroom?”

“Hmm, yeah, so?” I didn’t know what she wanted.

“The T-shirt you’re wearing looks just like the one she saw on Rebecca once and really wanted. That is probably such an insider between the two. A concert they both attended, but there was only one T-shirt left to buy. And now you’re wearing it! Where did you get it?”

“Borrowed, a nurse!”, I lied quickly, after a moment of stupefaction. Damn. Yet I hadn’t even looked at it closely until now. Some logo of a band I wasn’t familiar with. Quickly, I tried to deflect. “Rebecca and Diana are into the same music?”

“Well, at least when they met.”

“Okay.”

But now there were other things to discuss quickly. Isabell had to leave right away and the nurse would be back any moment.

“Are you gonna be okay? I mean about Rebecca? She’ll be fine, for sure!”

Isabelle’s look became abruptly worried. “I’m scared, Johanna!”

“Everything will be fine, I will protect you!”

I gestured for her to come to me and hug me. She immediately complied. I hugged her tightly, ignoring the pain of her embrace. After a few moments, we kissed until the nurse came in.

After Isabell had left and I had been given new bandaids by the nurse, I pondered over the events of the last 24 hours. Would Rebecca remember? And if so, everything? Then I remembered: How was I going to get that damn T-shirt back now? I dozed off over all the thoughts.

Only a knock on the door woke me up. It was Reiner, he looked at least as sleepy as I felt.

“Not sleeping yet? What did you do all night?” he greeted me.

“Private strip show for two police officers. Gotta make money somehow.”

Stunned, he stared at me, then laughed briefly. “Your sense of humor is really weird, Johanna. But I’m glad you haven’t lost it yet. You heard from Diana how Rebecca is doing?”

“Yes, she will remain in a coma for another day or two and then should be awakened.”

He nodded. “And then we’ll have to see how she does. With luck, she won’t retain anything. If she’s unlucky …”

I sat up. “Is her life still in danger?”

“No, rather not. But it’s as bad as Michael Schuhmacher!”

“Shit!”

“Yes! After all: she received immediate medical attention and therefore her chances are much better. But we have to expect amnesia. She may not remember hours or even days before her, um, accident. Or not immediately.”

Well, that didn’t have to be anything negative. Rather the opposite.

“That means the insurance business will look into the whole thing more,” he added.

That was more of a problem. “What does that mean?”

“Your report, it doesn’t add up like that!”

I already knew that.. But what was I supposed to do? “What do you want to tell me now?”

“We have to portray that one a little differently.”

“I cannot. The administrator was already there yesterday and took the picture. And there was blood on the table, so he took a picture of it.”

Reiner lifted up papers. “Yes, but blurred pictures. And I’m supposed to make new ones and pick up the report he left here to sign. I said that since we knew each other, I could take care of it.”

“Oh, something new then. What do you want me to remember differently about how it was?”

He looked at the sharp-edged table. Then he looked around, and his gaze fell on the end of the bed with its rounded edges.

“About her falling against here.”

I was annoyed that I hadn’t thought of it myself.

The rest of the day was absolutely quiet. I didn’t hear anything from Holger or Sascha, but I didn’t expect to. I considered whether I should call anyone, for example Walter from the BKA? After a short consideration I came to the conclusion that a short message wouldcould not hurt. Besides, maybe they should start investigating whether several girls had already disappeared without a trace here. Also from abroad. If the girls down there were all blackmailed and then sold, that was more than just bad.

What didn’t fit, however, was that Diana now gave me so much freedom again. Was Diana privy to everything? Did she know about my interrogation on the first day? I knew far too little about Diana, I had concentrated too much on other people, and of course Rebecca herself.

I dialed Walter’s number, but he did not answer. Either he was off or on vacation. Later, then.

Bored, I took the book from the nightstand and began to read.

In contrast to the television series, it now cast a spell over me.

It was late at night when fatigue forced me to put it down. And in the night I dreamed of the approaching long winter.

As promised, Diana had me picked up early on Tuesday. Rebecca was still in a coma, as Reiner let me know first thing in the morning.

It was Rebecca’s driver, who very curiously wanted to know from me what had happened to Rebecca. I left it at a vague report that she had had a very unfortunate fall in the hospital and would be out for some time. If Diana didn’t feel like telling him details, then I didn’t have to. While I was sure that I could find a source of insider knowledge here as well, it seemed too risky.

In the apartment building, everything was as if I hadn’t been away. I didn’t see Isabell, she was probably busy in the basement. I really had to talk to her about it soon.

My apartment was filled with boxes. This time nothing was put away. The very first thing I did was to find something comfortable to wear from the boxes. Cursing inwardly, I then began to unpack and put things away, limiting myself to the most necessary and putting the rest in the boxes into the closets. I had to assume that I would move out again in the near future.

I had left almost all the groceries in the apartment, and found them all again today, except for the perishables in the fridge. So I also had to do some shopping.

I hadn’t quite finished putting everything away when my apartment doorbell rang. Completely puzzled, I went to the door and opened it. It was Ronja.

“Hi Johanna! Am I inconvenient, may I come in?”

“Uh, hello Ronja! I’m putting things away. If you don’t mind the mess, sure, come on in!”

“Thank you.”

She walked past me and looked for a free seat on a chair. Then she looked around.

“I want to know what’s going on,” she opened without mincing words.

“What do you think? Oh, would you like some coffee? I was just about to make some. And then you could explain calmly what you mean.”

“Yes, thank you. I’d like milk.”

Thoughtfully, I put on coffee for both of us and took two cups from the cupboard. “I’m afraid I don’t have milk. Will long-life whipped cream do? I have to go shopping later.”

“Go too.”

Well, she was definitely not on a diet. With the full coffee cups, spoons and cream, I returned to the table and sat down across fromher.

“So, now slow down and figure out, what do you think?”

She poured a little cream into her cup and watched it disperse into the coffee. Obviously, she was thinking about how to start. Then she looked at me. “Well, we’ve had a little fun together, that doesn’t result in any commitments yet, for either of us.”

Oops, what was that? Was she accusing me of not returning her call?

“But, I had already wondered that we were more than just women working in the same apartment. More like friends.”

Stunned, I stared at her. Holla! I really didn’t know what she was getting at and what I should say. But she kept talking.

“First of all, you disappear overnight, with no explanation and no goodbye? I suddenly see the movers clearing out your apartment, all Kumiho turns canceled, and you’re gone.”

“Oh, sorry, it’s a little more complicated than that. Actually, I haven’t really been away.”

“Obviously, because yesterday I met Isabell here, and she tells me that she is putting things away again for her friend, because she is still in the hospital. Four days ago, Mimi told me that Isabell had attacked Edward. But it wasn’t her, it was him who was arrested by security while you were almost bleeding to death on stage in the Artificial Intelligence room. But Isabell acted like it was just a misunderstanding. You gone, her gone, Edward gone. Then her back, now you.”

Ah, the house gossip was still working. “I obviously didn’t bleed to death.”

“I finally want to know what’s going on here!” she skipped over my flippant remark. “I’m starting to get the impression that there are other things going on here and you’re involved. Where have you been? What’s the deal with the ominous 24/7ers?”

Ouch, I was not allowed to report about it under any circumstances. And if I told Ronja, 30 minutes later the whole house knew.

“I’m not allowed to talk about that. Terms of the contract!”, I explained truthfully.

She looked at me penetratingly, but I looked back firmly. Finally, she gave up.

“Very well. But what about the Artificial Intelligence room, you, Isabell and Edward?”

“I cannot say because I don’t know exactly what happened yet. But Isabell attacked Edward because I think he made a mistake in serving me, and the Dalek hurt me because of it.” That sounded implausible even to my ears.

She raised her eyebrows, and I sighed.

“Listen, Ronny. I’m really not allowed to talk about this. Why don’t you ask others who were there and saw it?”

“They’re all as silent as the grave all of a sudden! That’s why I want to know what’s going on here!”
