Laura had been working at her job for two months now and she was already bored out of her mind. The work was monotonous and the people she worked with were dull. As the elevator began to ascend, Jack turned to her, “So, how do you like your new job?”

“Don’t worry, it’s just a power outage,” Jack reassured her, his voice smooth and calming.

They stood there in the darkness for what felt like an eternity. Laura’s heart was pounding so hard she wondered it might burst out of her chest. She couldn’t believe what was happening.

Suddenly, Jack’s hand was on her waist, pulling her towards him. Laura’s breath caught in her throat as she felt his lips on hers. The kiss was electric, and she couldn’t withstand him.

Their hands were all over each other as the heat between them grew. Laura had never felt so alive. They were completely consumed by each other, forgetting where they were or what they were meant to be doing. All they could think of was each other.

As the power suddenly came back on, Jack pulled away from her, his breathing labored. They both adjusted their clothing and pretended like nothing had happened, but the sexual tension was still present.

As they stepped out of the elevator, Jack turned to her, “Same time tomorrow?”

Laura didn’t even need to think about it. “Definitely.”

As she left the office with her new promotion, she saw Jack waiting for her in the elevator. He had orchestrated everything, so that she could take his place. She was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t withstand him any longer.

As the elevator doors closed behind them, Laura and Jack once again gave in to their deepest desires. But this time, it was different. This time they were in love.

Their relationship continued, and they eventually left the business to begin their own company. They were happier than they ever wondered feasible. The elevator would all the time hold a special place in their hearts, as it was where they had fallen in love.
