The uncanny valley phenomenon has been crucial for the survival of many since the beginning of humanity. It is simply the sensation of unease that all normal people feel when they first meet my kind. I may look, talk, laugh, and express emotions like a human, but I can now assure you that I’m anything but that. Some people get away from me as fast as possible after the first encounter. I stand no chance with them. Some people simply ignore the evolutionary drive for preservation. When we first meet, I can tell they’re uncomfortable, but they don’t try to get away. They irrationally fear offending me over their own survival. Those are the ones who I can manipulate into accepting, liking, or even loving me over time. The reason for doing this is that I’m not the type to make the final move immediately. I don’t have that kind of stealth. Instead, I always make sure people like you are comfortable first. I don’t do this out of sick sadistic pleasure, I do it to survive. When I come out of hibernation, I need the flesh, blood, and most importantly, the brain of a human; no other creature’s brain is as fulfilling. I just hope you’ll understand and sympathize in these final moments. You would be doing the same thing if you were my position, trust me. All I can guarantee now is that your feelings of fear, betrayal, and even foolishness will come to an end soon enough. If it makes you feel any better, I did actually love you.
