Dear Mr Joel Martins

Thank you for letting me be part of your incredible project. I am honoured to meet so many incredible and talented people, and it has been a pleasure to meet all of you.

However, I regret to inform you that I wish to resign from Project X. I will work with HR for my last date of work.

I am mainly resigning as I am deeply disturbed by the effects of Project X. It has taken us many years to perfect it, and it is working really well so far. However, every animal that consumed the serum changed dramatically. They grew faster and stronger at an unprecedented pace, and their teeth and claws followed suit. It wasn’t before the animals started exhibiting signs of rabies, foaming at the mouth and exhibiting aggressive behavior. I know we are trying to adjust the formulation so we can control those behaviors before we proceed to human test subjects, but taking something so innocent and docile and turning it into monsters deeply terrifies me.

Naturally this has increased in heightened stress levels in our animal test subjects. They had also shown signs of extreme pain. Knowing we are doing this to them sickens me. In exchange for a potential new bioweapon that can destroy enemies from the inside out, we are sacrificing their welfare and happiness. Is it truly worth it?

I have decided I can no longer bear the burden of assisting in a project this unethical. However, I do wish you and your team all the best.

Yours sincerely,

Dennis Shan

Internal Response: Resignation of Mr Dennis Shan

It has come to our attention that Mr Shan wishes to resign. However, his extensive knowledge about Project X has put its safety and trust in jeopardy.

The inner council has voted that therefore, it is vital to eliminate Shan.

Project X has been dissolved in the water bowl of the Shan family dog at 1905 hours while the Shans are out on a walk. Given the relative rapid effects of the serum, all we have to do is wait.
