I can hear her hissing and snarling as she searches, turning over everything in her path to find me, it’s only a matter of time now. If I only I trusted my own gut feeling, all the signs were there, but I just wouldn’t listen now I lost everything.
Her nails are dragging along the walls now, as she slowly creeps up the stairs, whispering with that soft, sweet familiar voice, “I’m going to get you” in a tone like one would use playfully chasing a toddler.
This is not the first time this happened to me I’m sorry the say, but I’m sure it will be the last. I can hear her tear through the parents room, gigging at the sound of the furniture breaking on the walls and ceiling. I can’t bare this anymore, there is no way out for me, unless, I make a run for it when she goes into the children’s room.
She is slowly making her way down the long narrow hallway. Now she is stopped outside the door, I hope she goes in to the other room first, or I have no chance. I hear a loud crash and the whole house is shaking, as she crashes through the room door across the hall. Yes, now’s my chance.
I carefully climb out of the closest, creep over, and quietly opened the door, it’s now or never. I run down that hallway faster than I ever ran before, when I reach the stairs I hear her crash through the doorway and into the hall, with one leap I am at the bottom it the stairs.
It was only a short distance to the front door but she is gaining on me fast. I put the key in then jimmy the lock, but I’m panicking, I failed, now she is behind me, I wiggle the key one more time it works. I swing the door open and try to run, but it’s too late, I feel her slithery arms on the back of my neck. She lifts me up, turns me around, pulls me close to her hideous puss filled face.
Than with that sweet voice says, “why did you have to kill them all, son.”
