I had been a security guard at the Waldorf Hotel for 35 years. I enjoyed my job believe it or not. I was set to retire and tonight would be my last shift, and God after this night I was happy to leave this unearthly place.

It was around 10 pm and there was a call to the front desk about disturbing noises. The message was then relayed to me, and I took off in the elevator to check out room 66 which was on the 6th floor. How ironic, right?

I Located the room. Knocked a couple of times and called out. Nothing, no answers, no noises, nothing. Okay, so I decided to open the door and check out the room. I open the door and there was this weird stench in the room, I switch the lights on because the room was pitch black. Lo and behold, only to see the resident of the room in his bed, sleeping like an angel or so I thought…. I shouted at him countlessly. Nothing. I decide to shake him by the foot. Nothing. I checked for a pulse, nothing. He must be dead I thought.

I turned my back for an instant to call the front desk to tell them to call an ambulance because the occupant of the room is deceased. As I'm about to call the front desk, I could just feel the hairs on my neck stand up and I suddenly heard something slap the floor like feet. I quickly turned around. Only to see the corpse behind me, as if we were facing each other. Out of pure fright, I fell backward screaming. It lunged at me and I dodged it and ran out the room.

I went straight to the elevator in a panic, from there I went straight to the first floor and ran out of there. The next day I received a call from the hotel saying I left my shift early and they don't know what happened but seeing that it was my last shift after all these years it was okay. That place will never see me again.
