Money has been tight lately. I couldn’t pay anything except for rent and a piece of bread a day. I was losing a lot of weight; to say the least.

One day I decided to enjoy the sunny day. It was a really nice time. It made me forget all my troubles; That until this stupid idea accured to me.

I walked up to a store with the feeling of getting something sweet. I got a dollar so I walked to a gumball machine. And got one.

The most expensive dollar I think I’ll ever spend in my life

I bit it. It broke my molar. I didn’t notice at first until the discomfort started to set in. The pain was a bit too much to even describe.

“Hey, son? you ok?” Asked me an older gentleman. I had noone some I told him what the fuck just happened and by the end he new all about my situation.

“Your lucky day.” He said as he handed me a business card. “I’ll do this for free. I work at a clinic in the little next town over.”

He said goodbye. And said he had an opening in his schedule tomorrow at 8 am. It wasn’t a weird hour and he sounded professional.

So next I knew I went there and I was ready for surgery.

“Listen son, we are a poor clinic so we can’t afford certain stuff. But this we can.”

He showed me a needle. Whatever it had in it paralyzed me. Just that. Paralyzed.

So he got to work. The process wasn’t what I went for. He started extracting all my teeth. I felt every moment of it.

After that he asked his assistant to do her “thing”.

Apparently it  was all free cause what followed was a total replacement of my teeth. The drilling. The screwing. And finally the teeth. Only the pain remained.

The assistant did her thing again. She healed me. Still paralyzed he showed me my new teeth. My canines were a bit longer and sharper not to the point of looking “unnatural” which they were there.

We were there for another day. Where he told me it must’ve felt like torture but I’ll never need another tooth job  since those were special. But not free, he lied.

“You know? This town has become cheap and filled with delinquents. Just the other day three punks broke in.” He seemed angry. “We got God to thank Kath for being here. She stopped them. Now it’s your turn to end them.”

It was simple. I wasn’t gonna do that. No killing. So I attacked him since I had regained movement. He slapped me across the room so hard I was surprised I didn’t go through the damn brick wall. Kath kindly did her thing cause I could feel everything broken inside me.

So I had to take the job. Soon I could’ve been homeless so I chose me over them.
